In addition to technical proficiency, photographers need specific personal qualities and skills. 

• Artistic ability: Photographers are artists who must have the creativity necessary to come up with ways to tell stories using images. They need a good eye for using color, light, and composition.

The responsibilities of photographers can depend on the medium in which they work, but some common duties include:

• Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
• Produce photography in various methods including printed/digital media.

• Video Editor Duties and Responsibilities

• A Video Editor is tasked with taking the raw footage shot by a film crew and director and turning it into the final product. This means following an outline, script or shot list and assembling the footage into one cohesive video or film. Often in video and film work, there are many camera angles and takes recorded. It is the responsibility of the Video Editor to review all the footage and create the best output by cutting and connecting various footage, adding sound effects and graphics and fine-tuning the completed video or film.

  Examples of tasks a Video Editor may need to perform include: 

• Assembling raw footage and transferring or uploading to a computer
• Following a script, screenplay or outline
• Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs

• Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file

• Develop and research ideas for original movie screenplays.
• Create an initial framework, or treatment, for screenplays.

• Weave together visual elements in scenes with plot and dialogue.
• Work with producers and directors to edit and adjust the script as needed.
